Sophie Ellis-Bextor will be playing at Bents Park as part of the free South Tyneside Summer Festival on Sunday, July 17.
With four hit albums to her name, the pop queen is certain to draw the crowds in their thousands, and is a welcome addition to this year’s Sunday concert line-up.
Sophie hit the top spot after collaborating with DJ Spiller on dance track Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love) back in 2000.
She also enjoyed chart success with hits such as Murder On The Dancefloor, Take Me Home and Music Gets The Best Of Me.
Other acts to perform over the summer in Bents Park, as well as other events and shows throughout the borough, are still to be confirmed.
Gates for the Sunday concerts open at 12.30pm, with shows starting at approximately 2pm. For further information, call 424 7985 or e-mail events@southtyneside.gov.uk
