Another of Britain’s top comics is heading for Teesside, with Marcus Brigstocke bringing his hotly-anticipated new show The Brig Society to Stockton’s ARC on Friday 14 September.
The award-winning comic is a firm TV & radio favourite, and The Brig Society – totally restructuring every aspect of life in Britain organised through the medium of jokes – promises to be as sharply observant and quick witted as ever.
Already known to millions of comedy fans thanks to a string of top TV shows including Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, QI and bags more besides, Marcus has also pretty much made Radio 4 his second home.
A regular on the Now Show with Punt & Dennis, he’s also proved a big hit as intrepid explorer Giles Wembley Hogg Goes Off, three series of The Museum of Everything, as well as being a regular on long-standing Radio 4 classics Just a Minute and the Newsquiz.
A fanatical snowboarder, Marcus is also the artistic director of the Altitude Festival in the French Alps. The music & comedy festival raises money for the WWF, and has fast become a huge hit after attracting some of comedy’s biggest names.
Peter Vincent of promoters Ten Feet Tall said: “Marcus’s shows are always laugh-out-loud, and he’s always someone I look forward to working with. He’s easily one of my personal favourites – brilliant on TV & radio, but absolutely amazing live. Look out for us at a curry house nearby after the gig!”
